Kevin Browne Architecture (KBA) is an employee-owned, small, dynamic architectural firm specializing in a wide range of residential projects throughout Maine and New England. Whether designing new homes or renovating existing ones, we create timeless architecture by blending New England aesthetics and sensitivities with modern amenities and efficiencies—ultimately shaping a fresh, thoughtful vernacular.

Our studio offers a flexible work environment, including adaptable hours and remote-work opportunities. About the Position We are seeking an Architectural Designer who is creative, motivated, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a collaborative, congenial environment.

The ideal candidate excels at problem-solving, demonstrates advanced technical abilities, and is confident managing projects independently from concept through completion. Equal enthusiasm for design and documentation is essential. Qualifications
• Associate Degree in an architecture-related field; B.Arch/M.Arch preferred
• 5+ years of experience in an architectural practice with strong technical design and detailing experience in residential work
• Proficiency in BIM Software, ArchiCAD preferred
• Strong technical ability to produce construction documents using ArchiCAD • Experience detailing wood-frame buildings
• Strong design and graphic skills; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to think independently
• Solid understanding of building science and construction assemblies
• Confidence in both hand and digital sketching
• Rendering experience
• Ability to self-manage, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
• Strong verbal, graphic, organizational, and collaborative communication skills Responsibilities
• Assist in creating design layouts and architectural features for small projects or specific sections of larger projects.
• Conduct research and compile necessary information for assigned projects, ensuring data is accurate and up-to-date.
• Contribute to project work by assisting project team in design, drafting, and other related tasks.
• Work with the project team to support design decisions, review progress, and ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
• Ensure that work meets the required standards and complies with relevant codes, regulations, and client specifications.
