Emerging Professionals Committee

AIA Maine’s Emerging Professionals Committee works to proactively support young professionals in the field of architecture, including those currently studying architecture, going through the IDP process, or recently licensed.

Committee Chair: Kathryn Wise, AIA

Socials & Tours: An ongoing series of social meetings and tours of new projects are hosted throughout the state. If you would like to organize your own social, contact us via e-mail.

ARE Study Library: For those emerging professionals who are studying for exams or thinking about beginning the process, AIA Maine has the most up to date study materials with ARE 5.0. With an AIA National Emerging Professionals grant we were awarded, we have purchased a study guide for each of the six divisions. The AIA Maine study library is a free service for our emerging professionals and a way that AIA Maine helps support those going through the entire licensure process. Contact us via email at: ep@aiamaine.org, if you have an interest in using the study materials.

Licensure + You. Biennially, The Emerging Professionals Committee hosts a discussion about the paths to licensure. NCARB representatives attend.

State Architect Licensing Advisor: The EP Committee Chair is also the state’s Architect Licensing Advisor and can provide answers to some of your more detailed questions about licensure.

NCARB’s Licensing Advisor Summit.  The EP Committee Chair attends NCARB’s two day conferences which focus on licensing requirements, changes, and upcoming initiatives. This relationship allows the AIA Maine membership to stay up-to-date on emerging professional issues as well as licensed professionals who would like to pursue their NCARB Certificate.
