Kaplan Thompson Architects Announces Meg Bunke has Earned Architectural Licensure
Portland, ME — June 1, 2026 — Kaplan Thompson Architects is pleased to announce that team member Meg Bunke has officially become a Licensed Architect in the State of Maine. This milestone represents a major step forward in her career and adds valuable expertise to the firm.
Meg’s journey to licensure is rooted in a unique blend of fine arts and environmental sustainability. She graduated from Bowdoin College in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Art, and earned her Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin in 2021, combining her artistic background with a desire to work in the sustainability field. Since joining the firm in 2021, she has brought a unique and valuable perspective to the Kaplan Thompson team.
She has contributed to a variety of significant regional projects, including the multi-family Lewiston Choice Wedgewood Neighborhood development and award-winning single-family residential projects such as Squid Cove on Mount Desert Island and Woodward in Brunswick, Maine.
"We are so excited for Meg. This is a major accomplishment and we are incredibly proud and lucky to have her on our team," says Adam Wallace, Principal. “Meg brings a brilliant balance of creativity and technical problem-solving to our team. Her commitment to thoughtful, sustainable architecture is evident in every project she touches, and we look forward to watching her continue to grow and make an impact.”
Meg will continue to apply her technical proficiency, artistic vision, and problem-solving approach to the firm's ongoing residential and multi-family projects.
