Kaplan Thompson Architects Announces Grace Tisdale has Earned Architectural Licensure
Portland, ME — October 7, 2025 — Kaplan Thompson Architects, a leader of sustainable design based in Portland, Maine, is pleased to announce that Grace Tisdale has successfully completed the Architect Registration Examination (ARE). This achievement marks a significant milestone in her career and strengthens the firm's leadership in the industry.
Grace Tisdale has completed the path to licensure through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and is now a Maine licensed architect. Grace joined the firm in 2020 after working at architectural firms in New York City and San Francisco. She obtained a Masters in Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and has certification from the Parsons New Healthy Materials Program.
Over the last five years at Kaplan Thompson Architects, Grace has found a niche in sustainable residential renovations, with a keen eye for both the hidden elements of deep energy retrofits and the architectural details that bring a homeowner’s vision to life. She recently shared her expertise at the retrofitMAINE Symposium hosted by passivhausMAINE in Freeport.
"We are incredibly proud of Grace for this accomplishment," said Adrienne Stauffer, Principal. "Her passion for sustainable design has been evident throughout her career, and licensure is a testament to her commitment to design excellence and professional growth. Grace is an invaluable member of our team, and we look forward to her continued contributions."
