    • Passivhaus Internation certification - Alnoba

    • 10 projects completed at or near Passive House performance standard

  • Scott Simons Architects

    • The new Residence Hall at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences - achieved Net-Zero Energy

    • The Education Center at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, a joint venture between Scott Simons Architects and Maclay Architects, became officially certified as Net-Zero Energy.

    • Selected as architect for College of the Atlantic Center For Human Ecology (in partnership with Susan T. Rodriguez | Architecture * Design)

  • PDT Architects

    • celebrated the 40th anniversary of its founding in 1977 by Lyndon D. Keck, AIA and David C. Webster, AIA.

    • Acquired by CHA Consulting, Inc., a 950-person engineering firm based in Albany, NY.

    • PDT Architects launched a new logo and website.

    • The Mars Rover, PDT’s ‘Puppy Love’ entry in the Creative Office Pavilion / Herman Miller Design Challenge 2017, tied for 1st Place.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBER ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Judy Johnson, AIA of Harriman – Member of AIA Strategic Council

  • Carol Wilson AIA of Carol A. Wilson Architect - serves on the Board of Directors for Engine. "AIA Maine Design Committee exhibited the AIA Maine Awards for the first time in southern Maine at Engine in Biddeford. Engine was thrilled to have this exhibit and it created a new dialogue in that community. I know that it was a lot of extra work for the Committee, but it is proof that getting the work out, especially in images and photographs, adds to our communities and their understanding and vision for architecture. A big thanks from Engine."

  • Brian M. Curley, AIA, president of PDT - served as vice president of MEREDA

  • Gunnar Hubbard,FAIA of Thornton Tomasetti - Member of 2018 AIA National Committee on the Environment

  • Phil Kaplan, AIA of Kaplan Thompson Architects - President of the Board of NESEA

  • Ryan Kanteres, AIA of Scott Simons Architects - elevated to Senior Associate

  • Kayla Caron, AIA of Scott Simons Architects - elevated to Associate

  • David C. Webster, AIA of PDT - served as past president on the board of GrowSmart Maine.

  • Ann Fontaine-Fisher, AIA and Matthew Pitzer, AIA of PDT Architects - hosted a meeting of the Maine Health Care Engineers Society and delivered a presentation on their conversion of 161 Marginal Way for two health care practices.
