As energy codes and green building standards continue to raise performance expectations, designers need to understand how thermal bridging, moisture, air tightness, and insulation work together within the building enclosure. This presentation will focus on the role of continuous exterior insulation in managing heat transfer and reducing condensation risk in exterior walls.
Through step-by-step examples, participants will learn how to determine the amount of continuous insulation required to meet prescriptive code requirements based on climate zone, while considering practical strategies for creating durable, energy-efficient, and healthy building assemblies.
