Join us on December 2, 2021, at 1:00 pm to learn more about One Climate Future, a joint climate action and adaptation plan developed by the Cities of Portland and South Portland to create thriving, inclusive, low-carbon cities over the next thirty years.

One Climate Future is an ambitious but achievable plan. The plan includes 68 strategies across four focus areas for how these two cities will address climate change.

A top priority of this plan is to “build better buildings.” The plan defines the key milestone that “all new buildings to be net-zero energy starting in 2032.”

Troy Moon, Portland Sustainability Office and Julie Rosenbach, South Portland Sustainability Office will provide a broad overview of how these two communities worked together to create this groundbreaking effort and they will share the important role the building sector will play in realizing the goals of this ambitious plan.

The conversation will be moderated by Phil Kaplan, principal at Kaplan Thompson Architects.

This presentation is sponsored by AIA Maine, passivhausMAINE, the Portland Society for Architecture, Kaplan Thompson Architects, and the sustainability offices of Portland and South Portland.
