Interiors Architect/Designer

Caleb Johnson Studio is a small, collaborative group of designers and architects. This position requires independent, autonomous management of the interior design arm of our studio while under the supervision of the Principal and Director of Residential Design.

Responsibilities include:

  • Measure and document existing conditions

  • Collaborate with the architectural design team to establish and generate interior design goals and concepts.

  • Manage project FF&E budgets, design fees and schedule.

  • Design and document interior focused spaces, e.g. kitchens and bathrooms.

  • Design and detail millwork and other interior specialty construction.

  • Source interior furniture, finishes and equipment.

  • Present interiors concepts to clients and manage client relationships.

  • Produce documentation necessary for implementation of project interiors package and incorporate into the project model and contract documents.

  • Coordinate with consultants and contractors as needed to achieve interiors goals.

  • Manage and build the office materials library.


  • 5-8 years professional experience and an Architectural/Interior Design degree from an accredited program

  • On a path to licensure or licensed interior designer or architect

  • Experience in all aspects of project management including client experience, design fees, project schedule, document production, consultant coordination and construction administration.
