Formed in 1964, our mission is to preserve and revitalize greater Portland's remarkable legacy of historic buildings, neighborhoods, landscapes and parks. Current executive director, Hilary Bassett, is retiring in June 2019 after 18 years leading the preservation movement in the region. We are now seeking energetic candidates for the position of Executive Director to lead the organization in its next chapter—I wanted to be sure you knew about this exciting opportunity!
Ideal candidates for the executive director position will have a passionate commitment to all aspects of historic preservation; experience and success as a leader and fundraiser; and the ability to engage, educate, and establish effective relationships with members, public officials, developers, and diverse community stakeholders.
