We are seeking a licensed Architect with ten or more years of experience, who plans and develops medium- to large-scope projects with many complexities, executes and coordinates projects, and may oversee a large staff of architects and technicians.
As a member of our firm the Senior Food Retail Project Architect / Architectural Project Manager / Studio Leader will be a large contributor to marketing as well as the design, programming and planning of food retail projects throughout the US as well as the State of Maine. Significant architectural project experience pertaining to architectural and Food Retail projects is required.
Job Requirements:
Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication and computer applications related to the practice of architecture and engineering
• LEED Accredited Professional
• Must be skilled and experienced in all architectural project phases from initial concept to completion and occupancy.
• Must have experience that includes conceptual design and programming, schematic design, design development, construction document production, consultant coordination, client interaction, construction administration, etc.
• Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Architectural Desktop is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of REVIT BIM software is a plus.
Education Requirements:
• Professional Degree in Architecture from an accredited University
• Registered in the State of Maine
• Ten years of work experience as project architect / manager

Winkelman Architecture is a small, 3 person, custom residential design firm in Portland, practicing throughout the state. We are a design driven office working on a mix of houses, camps and cottages in a range of styles from traditional to contemporary. We are very detail oriented, have a craft oriented approach and are a highly collaborative environment.
We are seeking a full time designer/architect with 5 to 10 years experience. A background detailing thoughtfully designed and assembled residential buildings is essential. Hands-on experience in construction (or cabinetry/millwork) is a plus. Confidence sketching is an asset. Strong software aptitude is essential: SketchUp and AutoCAD are a minimum, ArchiCAD is helpful but not required. The candidate will be responsible for managing and executing all phases of projects, small or large, from documenting existing conditions to design, production drawings and construction admin, working as a team and individually.
